Professor Kenneth Eaton is currently a Visiting Professor at the University College London, Eastman Dental Institute and the King’s College London Dental Institute and an Honorary Professor at the University of Kent.

He is Chair of the Platform for Better Oral Health in Europe, and President of the European Association for Dental Public Health and has been the Adviser to the Council of European Chief Dental Officers for the last 18 years.

He has advised the World Health Organization and the Health Departments of several European countries and in 2008 was appointed as a Special Adviser to the House of Commons Health Select Committee’s inquiry into dental services in England.

From 1998 to 2003 he was the Director of the National Centre for the Continuing Professional Education of Dentists. He has been the President of the Education Research and Practice-Based Research Groups of the International Association for Dental Research (IADR).

In 2008, he was awarded a doctorate honoris causa by the Ovidius University of Romania.

He has edited and/or been an editorial board a number of international journals and is the editor of Oral Health and Dental Management, which is the only East European dental journal to have a Medline listing.

He has worked in all areas of dentistry including general practice, specialist practice and academic dentistry and has lectured, taught and advised in over 30 countries worldwide.

He is listed by the General Dental Council (UK) (equivalent of US Board Certification) as a Specialist in Periodontics and Dental Public Health and has over 300 publications many of which are in the areas of Periodontology, Dental Public Health and Distance Learning.
